9-10-25   THOUGHTS

I am encouraged as I read   “whose names are in the book of life. 4  Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! 5  Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.”   I invite you to join me for the rest of the week thinking about the “NEARNESS OF OUR LORD!”  ABIDING IN THE VINE is here, We speak of “practicing the presence of God.”
We are encouraged to “stand firm in the Lord.”   Two good women are told to learn to “hang out together better”.  The rest are instructed to help them in that task.  Fellowship in the Body of Christ is the issue.  Finally, the “cause of the gospel” is said to be a struggle!  I must ponder the quality of my personal struggle...

Php 4:1-5    Therefore, my beloved brethren whom I long to see, my joy and crown, in this way stand firm in the Lord, my beloved. 2  I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to live in harmony in the Lord. 3  Indeed, true companion, I ask you also to help these women who have shared my struggle in the cause of the gospel, together with Clement also and the rest of my fellow workers,
whose names are in the book of life. 4  Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! 5  Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.

A Prayer:
Help us to stand firm with a gentle spirit as we rejoice to live in Your presence.  Keep us  rejoicing in the name of Jesus.   Awaken us each day to our need to have our names in Your book of life.  Continually arouse in us a gentle spirit as we show Your image to our world.  We thank You and praise You, the God of all glory.  In the name of our Lord,   Amen.
